The Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mohammad bin Mahmoud Al-Ali visited recently a number of Sri Lankan refugee camps in the north-western part of the country.
During his visit, he took part in distributing a quantity of dates and copies of the Holy Quran to the needy Muslims in the camps, which are a gift of the Saudi government, according to SPA .
"We realize the sufferings of these Muslims who had gone through a difficult period as a result of the civil war in the northern part of the country," said the Ambassador in a statement to the press in Colombo Monday.
The Ambassador was accompanied during the tour by the Sri Lankan Minister of Rehabilitation and Re-housing for the northern region Norudeen Shihab. Shihab expressed thanks and appreciation to the Saudi government for its assistance to the needy people of Sri Lanka. (Albawaba.com)
