Saudi Prince Bandr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the kingdom's Ambassador to Washington, has announced that a total of 25 Saudi detainees in the United States have been released following the end of their trial and a number of them departed for the Saudi Kingdom.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Bandr stated that this step came in the context of the embassy's follow-up of the situation of the Saudi
citizens and students who were in detention in the United States for violation of the residence, emigration and traffic rules or any other accusations
In addition, he expressed that there were only 11 Saudi detainees currently in the United States. He conveyed that the embassy was monitoring their situation and working on putting an end to their detention as soon as possible through U.S. rules and regulations that allow them to defend themselves.
Moreover, the Saudi Ambassador said that the embassy has hired lawyers to defend all Saudi detainees without any exception and would pay all bail expenses as well as giving them flight tickets to travel to the kingdom, he concluded. (Albawaba.com)
