Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United Kingdom, Prince Turki Al-Faisal, dismissed allegations claiming he paid money to Osama bin Laden to prevent his network from attacking the Kingdom.
In an interview with Al-Watan daily, published in Riyadh on Thursday, Al-Faisal, former head of the Saudi intelligence service, said that he is currently considering to sue an American author for the allegations included in his recent book, over the Prince's meeting with Bin Laden in 1991 to "persuade" him not to target the Kingdom in return for money.
In the past, Prince Turki admitted he met bin Laden in Pakistan on several occasions in the 1980s when the Saudis, along with Pakistan and the CIA, were supporting fighters battling the Soviets in Afghanistan, but he insisted the aid stopped in 1989. (Albawaba.com)
