SAMENA Telecommunications Council is bringing back its Beyond Connectivity conference on 7-9 April 2008 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai, UAE, where senior decision makers in the telecommunications industry are expected to gather and discuss issues and opportunities confronting the sector in South Asia, Middle East and North Africa (SAMENA).

Last year’s edition of Beyond Connectivity provided SAMENA council members a forum to discuss a multitude of key issues, including broadband technology deployment, vertical market set ups, revenue-generation opportunities, and regulatory challenges.

This year, Beyond Connectivity will once again gather leading telecommunications operators from the SAMENA region, as well as keynote speakers and panellists from around the globe to build on last year’s consensus, while addressing new issues such as Market Liberalization, International Roaming rates, Mobile TV technologies, WiMAX compliance and acceptance, among other pressing concerns facing the industry.

Tom Wilson, CEO, Founder, & Executive Managing Director, SAMENA announced that the event will also launch an important annual publication – SAMENA “Visions 2008”, a comprehensive reference guide to the telecommunications industry in the region.

“With senior decision makers in attendance discussing the industry’s prospects and issues, Beyond Connectivity 2008 will help shape the direction of telecommunications will take in the region. Those who want to be involved in developing a consensus on the steps that we will take should be a part of this event,” Wilson added.
