Salem Zenia, a well-known author and poet of Amazigh Culture, has been given "a diploma of honor" by Tamazgha Association in Paris for his work and his contribution to the Amazigh literature. <i>Liberte Algeria</i> reported Monday that apart from being an author and poet, Salem Zenia, born in Tizi-Ouzou, is also a journalist.
Zenia studied journalism in the School of Liege in Belgium. After obtaining his diploma, he worked as a journalist in the regional week magazine "Le Pays" from 1990 until 1995. Then he became the editor-in-chief of the socio-cultural review Izuran. Zenia's first literary work, "Dreams of Yidir", a collection of his poems written in Amazigh language was published in Paris in 1993. Some of Zenia's famous novels written in Amazigh are "Tafrara" (1995), "Ighil d wefru" (2003) and "Tifeswin" (2004).
