Sabre Secures Exclusivity with Alshamel Travel & Tours

Leading regional travel agency selects Sabre to drive regional growth
across Middle East and Levant

Sabre Travel Network Middle East today announced an exclusive partnership deal with Alshamel Travel & Tours, one of largest and fastest growing travel agencies across the Middle East and the Levant. Signed at the Arabian Travel Market, the new deal recognizes Sabre’s excellence as a provider of global distribution systems for the travel industry.

Building on a long-term relationship with Sabre, this is the first time that Alshamel has opted for exclusivity in its global distribution systems. This will allow it to apply uniformity in travel reservations systems across its offices and markets. The resulting organization-wide economies of scale will benefit Alshamel’s operations, as well as adding enormous value for the travel agency’s customers in terms of wider travel options and better value for money.

Daniel Naoumovitch, CEO of Sabre Travel Network Middle East, said: “Alshamel and Sabre share many common goals, including dynamic and ambitious plans for future growth and business development across the whole of the Middle East and the Levant. We are proud to be associated with such a fast growing company and the exclusive nature of the agreement means that Alshamel can maximize its use of our resources, which include over 100 employees based in 11 countries around the region who are working on our helpdesk, or in training and technical functions.”

Derin Cameron, CEO of Alshamel Travel & Tours confirms that the new relationship will offer the agency the opportunity to leverage Sabre’s global distribution reach and its commitment to continuous innovation.

“Our decision to sign exclusively with Sabre was strategic. As we expand our business across the region, we need a regional partner who can deliver holistic and streamlined service and technology that fits our business model, allowing us to offer the best service, the best rates and the widest choice for each of our affiliates, whether corporate travel bookers, tour operators or the individual customer.”

Dedicated Sabre Help desk and Key Account Management teams have already been established to ensure that Sabre’s service and technology are tailored to meet the agency’s specific operational and business strategies’ needs.

Today’s announcement highlights Sabre’s continued growth in the Middle East region since it was established in 2005. Among Sabre’s other customers are Kanoo, Sharaf Travel and Bahwan Travel.

As part of Sabre’s wider IT systems support of the regional travel forum, the Arabian Travel Market 2008, the Alshamel stand will be powered by Sabre.
