North Korean number two Kim Yong-Nam is due to visit Libya after going to Indonesia this week, South Korean foreign ministry officials said Monday.
Kim, the North's parliamentary chief and nominal head of state, is scheduled to visit Indonesia from Wednesday to Friday, according to a government announcement in Jakarta.
"He is to make a four-day visit to Libya from July 12," a senior ministry official told AFP. "We are also trying to confirm a possible visit to Syria."
Reports said the North Korean official might visit Syria for three days and meet with President Bashar al-Assad following his trip to Libya. Kim Yong-Nam, who is due to meet with Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi, ranks behind North Korean supremo, Kim Jong-II.
Washington has in the past accused Libya, Syria and North Korea of sponsoring terrorism, and has branded North Korea part of an "axis of evil" along with Iran and Iraq. (Albawaba.com)
