Russian military jets targeted the western Syrian provinces of Hama and Idlib on Wednesday, Reuters reports.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group, the Russians also employed heavy surface-to-surface missile bombardments.
Earlier today Russia was accused of bombing a hospital in the residential area of Anadan, killing two children.
Russia's aerial campaign in Syria began last week in a bid to restore territory lost to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, amid much criticism from western allies.
