Russia urges Iran to resume nuclear talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a meeting with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari, on Monday urged Tehran to resume nuclear talks. According to IRIB, he said that Russian officials continue to hope that the Islamic Republic will act in a manner conducive to resolving the dispute on its nuclear programs and resume negotiations.

 

For his part, Safari said that Iran and Russia will continue their political talks in this regard.

 

Meanwhile, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani said on Sunday he will visit Moscow to follow up consultations with Russian officials on the idea proposed by Russia. "The focal point of our talks in Moscow will not be restricted to nuclear issues and we will hold talks on all fields," said Larijani.
