ALBAWABA - The Russian army confirmed on Wednesday to attack 'critical energy infrastructure' in Ukraine, AFP reported.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that Russia targeted the country's energy sector on Tuesday night with over 40 missiles and more than 70 attack drones.

In a statement, the president of Ukraine revealed: "More than 40 missiles were involved in this strike, including ballistic missiles. At least 30 were destroyed. There were also more than 70 Russian attack drones overnight."

This comes two days after Russia's accusations to Kyiv of organizing a chemical attack against the staff of a Russian defense industry enterprise in Yaroslavl City.

Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that a Russian citizen who was working for Kyiv was arrested after plotting to poison workers of the facility with toxic substances.
