Royal &Sun Alliance wins General Insurer of the Year Award.

Lead by the enlightening INSUREX 2007 conference, The Policy Middle East Insurance Awards presented the ultimate honor to the paramount industries of insurance sector.
Open to all registered companies in the GCC, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iran, the Middle East Insurance Awards witnessed a high increase in their third year with maximum participation and 12 categories related to the insurance industry sector.
“We have received an outstanding amount of entries than ever before and the standard of the award submissions has been very high.” said Chris Shaw, Director, The Media Factory, organizer of the awards.
However of the 12 categories ‘Loss Adjusting/assessing Initiative of the year’ was not presented nor was the award for ‘Personal Lines Broker of the Year’.  Surprisingly out of the estimated 200 brokers that are eligible for the category within the region, no entries were received!
“The POLICY Middle East Insurance Awards are a legitimate awards ceremony, recognizing and rewarding the best in the industry. As you will have seen we have had a much more comprehensive marketing campaign for the awards this year and so is the response.” he added.
Among the winners, Royal &Sun Alliance were presented with the most prestigious award, General Insurer of the Year by Mr Ian Hayward, Director Middle East; Scottish Re. title sponsor of INSUREX 2007.  Oman Insurance once again remained strong by receiving both the ‘Training Award’ and the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ award.
As the ceremony continued, ‘Commercial Lines Broker of the Year’ award was presented to Sun Insurance. For the category of ‘Medical Insurer of the Year’, Daman proved to be the best and ‘Regulator's initiative of the Year’ award was won by Central Bank of Bahrain.
Winning two awards the same night, AXA was recognized the most suitable for E-Business and Public Awareness Campaign award. Ahlan Care was announced as Supplementary Service Provider of the Year and last but not the least, Life Insurer of the Year was presented to Bank Al Jazira, closing the awards ceremony.
Companies winning the awards had to follow the criteria outlined, producing a 1,000 word essay and providing supporting material in triplicate. This information was judged individually and assessed by the international panel of judges according to their judging criteria.
INSUREX 2007 is the biggest conference in the region with more delegates and more brokers attending then ever before.
