The Royal Film Commission (RFC) announced today the launch of its drama workshop that will be held from 4th until 8th June 2006, between 11 am and 1 pm in the Ballet Hall of the Royal Cultural Center, Al Regency street, Amman.
This workshop, that will be led by Mrs. Majd Al Qasas will offer basic training in acting for theatre and television, in addition to focusing on the two kinds of acting through a comparative method.
RFC calls on all emerging actors of all ages to take part in this workshop, and register their interest before May 25th 2006. It is worth mentioning that Mrs. Majd Al Qasas who will be leading this workshop is an award-winning Jordanian theatre director and actress, who obtained a Master’s Degree in Physical Theatre from Royal Holloway College in London, UK.
The Royal Film Commission (RFC) of Jordan was established in July 2003 with a goal of developing and promoting an internationally competitive Jordanian audio-visual industry through building the human, technical and financial capacity of Jordanian talents by means of holding high-level workshops, seminars, competitions, and screenings conducted by professionals from all over the world, in addition to providing production support services to local, regional and international productions.
As a financially and administratively autonomous Jordanian government body, the Royal Film Commission is led by a board of Commissioners chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein and is the sole Middle Eastern member of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). The RFC was recently recognised for its dynamic use of various marketing tools at the AFCI Marketing awards 2006.
The Royal Film Commission believes that filmmaking is a form of creative expression that transcends borders to produce art void of cultural boundaries through the sharing of stories, thoughts and ideas.
