Bedouin gunmen on Wednesday abducted two Egyptian police officers in Sinai, security officials said.
Egyptian officials told Ma'an that gunmen ambushed an ambulance carrying two officers on a road between Nuweiba and Saint Catherine's Monastery.
One of the police officers had fallen ill and was being accompanied by a colleague when the incident occurred.
The gunmen fired shots at the tires of the ambulance before kidnapping the officers. The incident appeared to be an act of revenge after a dispute between a police officer and a Bedouin man a day earlier, officials added.
