A roadside bomb hit a military convoy in the Daman district of southern Kandahar province on Sunday morning, an official said.

Police spokesman Zia Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News the convoy of NATO Resolute Support (RS) was patrolling in the area when it was struck by a roadside bomb. There was no report of causalities in the blast, he said.

Durrani said two civilians were wounded in the retaliatory firing from foreign forces.

The injured had been evacuated to the provincial hospital by Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
