A Saudi relief delegation, led by Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Suweilim, the President of the Saudi Red Crescent Society, left Sunday for Darfur to get acquainted with the real situation in this Sudanese province.

This comes in line with the directives of Saudi King Fahd bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, to extend all possible assistance to the displaced people in the province, SPA reported.

Prior to departure, Dr. Al-Suweilim, in a statement to the agency, said that the visit of the delegation to Darfur will be followed by the departure of the Saudi medical and relief delegation to the province for extending the required assistance to the displaced people. (Albawaba.com)
