For the first time since its establishment, Pakistan has accepted an offer of relief aid and financial assistance from Israel for its post-earthquake relief activities.

Geo, a private television channel in Pakistan, reported on Wednesday that President General Pervez Musharraf had given the green light to Tel Aviv for its offer of relief goods and financial aid.

However, the channel added it was not clear what type of relief goods and technical assistance will be given by Israel and who will receive and operate them.

Similarly, President Musharraf has also accepted an offer of assistance from the American Jewish community, the television channel reported.

President of the American Jewish Congress Jack Rosen confirmed Wednesday that Pakistan is ready to get Israel's aid.

The deadliest ever earthquake in Pakistan's history hit parts of the country and Pakistan-administered Kashmir on Saturday, leaving over 25,000 dead, over 10,0000 injured, and more than one million homeless.
