Israel's Tourism Minister Benny Elon, who advocates the deportation of Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip, was invited last week by his Qatari peer to participate in a conference to be held next May in Doha, Yedioth Ahronot reported Thursday.
Elon, a member of the far-right Moledet party, confirmed recieving the invitation, adding he would soon convey his response to the Qatari authorites.
Elon, who is also a rabbi, assumed leadership of his party in 2001 after the former leader, Rechavam Zeevi, was assassinated by PFLP members in Jerusalem. Elon and his party are committed to an Israel that stretches from the Mediterranean to the Jordan River. His party claims Palestinians can and should be "transferred" out of Israel.
According to Elon, the West Bank and Gaza Strip are part of Israel and Palestinians should get Jordanian citizenship. (Albawaba.com)
