Palestinian sources recently revealed that negotiations between Israel and Hizbullah have resumed regarding the release of Lebanese prisoners held in Israeli jails and the fate of an Israeli pilot missing since 1986.
Negotiations between the two sides will resume under mediation of the German government, according to Al Quds Al Arabi.
The negotiations are expected to reveal information about the Israeli pilot, Ron Arad, whose whereabouts are believed to be known by Hizbullah.
Israel and Hizbullah initially began negotiations in 2004, which resulted in the release of hundreds of Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners held in Israeli jails in exchange for the release of Israeli Elchanan Tanenbaum as well as the bodies of three Israeli soldiers who had been kidnapped and killed by Hizbullah on the Israeli Lebanese border.
Many expect significant progress in the coming weeks now that negotiations have been renewed.
