Wafi Mall’s Extreme Motors Exhibition will gain yet another high profile first with the arrival of Renault’s Formula One car on July 20th. Boasting speeds of 0 to 200kph in four seconds, the Renault has a long list of accolades to its name and will be the first time fans have seen the legendary car on UAE soil.
Formula One enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see the 2005 Formula One World Champion car up close and see for themselves the engineering marvels behind the anatomically formed carbon seat that the likes of Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella have occupied in recent years.
“Wafi is delighted to have a racing legend of the renown of the Renault Formula One car taking part in our Extreme Motors Exhibition. The Renault is a real show stopper and a must see for all Formula One enthusiasts,” said Jocelyn McBride, Marketing Manager, Wafi Mall.
Renault boasts one of Formula One’s most impressive racing records with accolades such as six Constructors’ World Championship titles between 1992 and 1997, five Drivers’ World Championship titles and 105 Grand Prix wins between 1977 and 2005.
In addition to the Renault, Wafi Mall’s Extreme Motors Exhibition has already brought the Ferrari F1, McLaren-Mercedes MP4/21 and the BAR Honda 003/007 cars to Dubai. The BAR Honda is currently the star of the Emirates Foundation Charity auction as enthusiasts gather to place a bid on the car driven by Jacques Villeneuves in the 2001 World Championship series.
In addition to the record breaking racing machines, Wafi Mall is hosting a range of racing inspired competitions and events throughout the ten week motoring extravaganza. These include competitions for the fastest Scalextric laps completed on Wafi’s tailor made track sponsored by Dodge. Visitors who spend 200 AED or more can re-create the experience of racing the world’s fast machines on the F1 and Superbike simulators, exclusively at Wafi Mall.
