Etihad Airways has increased its comprehensive flight schedule within the Levant, Middle East and North Africa.
The extra number of flights will see the UAE’s national airline operate four flights-per-week to the Sudanese capital Khartoum, ten flights-per-week to Cairo, and daily flights to Doha, all from its Abu Dhabi base.
Beirut, Etihad’s first ever destination, will see an increase in flights of more than 50 per cent. Having recently extended the schedule from five flights-per-week to eight, from 1 July Etihad will operate 11 flights-per-week to the Lebanese capital.
Geert Boven, Etihad Airways’ EVP sales and services, said: “Etihad is delighted to strengthen our Levant, Middle East and North Africa flight network. With one-third of our destinations operating within this area, it is vital that the airline continues to build and develop our services to these markets.”
Etihad will also begin double-daily operations to Bahrain’s capital Manama from 1 July, providing a convenient service for business travellers within the region.
From 1 September Etihad will also increase its Abu Dhabi to Damascus service from four flights-per-week to five.
Mr Boven, added: “These new frequency increases will offer our passengers greater flexibility when travelling across the region. With regional trade growing year-on-year, it is crucial that we have a schedule that suits the demands of business travellers”.
