The sixth annual Middle East Toy Fair– the region’s largest event dedicated to the fast growing toy industry will open tomorrow, 13 May, at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The event, which will run for the next three days, until 15 May, will showcase the latest products, games, toys, baby accessories and educational equipment from more than 150 exhibitors from all over the world.

Manufacturers and disitributors from twenty seven different countries including Thailand, Germany, Spain, Japan, the UK and the USA will be taking part in the show. The event also features a special conference debating the importance of toys from an educational point of view as well as the business perspective.

The conference, which includes well-known international educational speaker panellist, Neil Griffiths, will cover subject areas ranging from industry issues to toy safety in the region and the latest in educational advances.

There is also an educational zone where exhibitors specialising in Back-to-School products will be launching the latest market additions.

According to Monica Schulz Blank, Exhibition Manager of the Toy Fair, “50 per cent of the GCC’s population is under 16 which translates into a huge potential market for suppliers of every kind of toy, from simple things for toddlers through to the latest hi-tech gadgets for older children and even grown-ups!.”

She added; “Our aim is to offer visitors to the exhibition the possibility to learn about the toy business, get insights into the international expansion of toy companies across borders, and also discuss the importance of play in the education of children. We therefore want to continue establishing the Middle East Toy Fair as the annual meeting point for the industry throughout the region.”

The Middle East Toy Fair will be open from 10am until 7pm on 13, 14 and 15 May.
