Region’s first GCC mortgage summit set to open in Bahrain

The Region's first GCC Mortgage Summit is set to open in the Kingdom on June 2 (Wednesday) at The Gulf Hotel and will bring more than 100 international firms and professionals to the capital city of Manama.

According to R Lakshmanan, Chief Executive Officer, Sakana Holistic Housing Solutions, the team behind the GCC Mortgage Summit 2010 the decision to host a specialist conference in the GCC stems from Sakana's confidence in opportunities in the region.

He said that there is an opportunity to create a new-world mortgage sector that uses the learning of yesteryear and is structured in a manner that better suits the lifestyles and economic-styles of the emerging cycle.

"The GCC Mortgage Summit 2010 is timely and highly relevant to the sustainability of the region's mortgage industry," Lakshmanan concluded.

Several of the world's leading voices in the mortgage sector will gather in Bahrain to address key growth and market opportunities for the Summit. The inaugural plenary speech will be delivered by Mr. Khalid Hamad, Executive Director Banking Supervision, Central Bank of Bahrain.

The GGC Mortgage Summit 2010 will run for two days (June 2-3 2010) in Bahrain. The forum is pegged to attract more than 100 firms and trade professionals from across GCC including real estate developers, mortgage providers, real estate service providers and other organisations that provide support such as insurance companies, legal and research..
