RAKFTZ received high delegation members from University of Bolton in UK

Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) received a high level academic delegation from Bolton University which will offer degree programmes in various fields  & a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs through its partner, Western International College at Ras al Khaimah Free Zone.
The delegation comprising Dr George Holmes, Vice Chancellor of Bolton University, Zubair Hanslot - Academic Director RAK Campus, University of Bolton, Alison Devine the Deputy Director in the British Council in the UAE, Mark Allanson, who heads the Foreign Affairs at Bolton University and Dave Wells the Deputy Head of Trade & Investment in British Embassy Dubai.
The Bolton University will offer its educational services in Ras Al Khaimah through the Western International College, which is a registered university in RAK FTZ.
Sheikh Faisal welcomed the university's academic delegation and expressed his joy with the Bolton University new RAK campus. He said, "I am delighted to welcome the offering of University of Bolton programmes in RAK. We have ambitious economic development plans for RAK. Higher-level skills are essential and the demand for graduates from employers is set to grow rapidly". 
"I am convinced they will make a big contribution to the prosperity of the region and the economy of RAK."
The Bolton University will be offering its programs in several key fields commencing in September 2008.

Dr George Holmes, Vice Chancellor said student will benefit from the ideal educational environment of the university, the teaching quality, and the qualification the students get upon graduation, which enable them gain the necessary skills demanded by the market.

He added that the world's best technology and laboratories will be provided to the students and it will be offering a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Built Environment, Engineering, Business, Computing/Information Technology, and Art and Design.

Zubair Hanslot - Academic Director RAK Campus, University of Bolton said he is delighted after the Bolton University recognized curriculum of its partner, the Western International College, which is a RAK FTZ client. He added that the Bolton University, RAK Campus will absorb 250 students in its first academic year. He stressed that the students enrolled at the RAK Campus will receive Bolton University typical education and sits for typical examinations and will be awarded typical degrees.

The RAK Campus will be an added value to the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, where education in the emirate will witness tremendous improvement, he said.

Mark Allansin said "the RAK Campus of Bolton University will operate proactively with industry and employers to provide career-relevant education."
The booming emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has been chosen as a base for the Bolton University for the competitive costs of operations, and the general development that is witnessed.
The University positions itself as student centred and in providing career relevant programmes.  It is currently already delivering programmes in 9 countries, predominantly in the Far East, Asia and Africa.  The University has received the highest recommendations on all its recent UK teaching quality audits.
