R Hotels which owns, manages and operates hotel properties and serviced apartments in UAE and aboard, has appointed Martin H. Kolb as its Vice President.
Mr Kolb has been appointed to develop the financial planning and procedures to enhance the group's image and shield company assets. His primary responsibilities will include managing the company's growth, scaling continued operations and directing regional human resources. His duties also include overlooking the two directly owned properties of the group – Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman and Ramada Downtown Dubai.
A senior spokesperson of R Holding, the owning company of R Hotels said: "We are very pleased to have Mr Kolb join the R Holding team. He brings a wealth of experience with him gained from working with some of the word's best hotels. This makes him the perfect individual to oversee the group's rapidly growing portfolio and to ensure stability meeting the interests of R Hotels' shareholders, employees and most importantly its customers."
Martin Kolb said: "I am very much excited to take up this post and manage the properties of this very progressive group as it expands its portfolio in the region. I will be overlooking the existing properties in operation in UAE: Ramada Ajman and Ramada Downtown Dubai and the 12 new set ups which the group is developing in Saudi Arabia and other countries. I will also be responsible for the strategic planning of the group and actively look to acquire management contracts in the UAE and GCC. Under management contracts, any individual hotel property can keep its identity and only acquire the professional services of R Hotels."
Mr Kolb has over 30 years of experience in almost every aspect of today's travel and hospitality industry. He has been associated with many companies in the travel trade such as IHG, Kempinski, RadissonSAS, Kuoni Travel and United Airlines, and has successfully improved their GOP, occupancy and revenues. He is very passionate about his profession and has a great eye for details. He has a natural head for business and extensive knowledge specially about the European and Middle East markets. He also has a great insight of the DMCs, travel agents and commercial markets related to hotel sales.
