Queen Rania Al Abdullah School visits Jordan Ahli Bank Numismatic Museum

A group of tenth grade students from Queen Rania Al-Abdullah School has visited the Jordan Ahli Bank Numismatic Museum located at the Bank’s headquarter in Shmeisani - Queen Noor Street.  The students toured the museum and were briefed about Jordan’s history and civilization.

The museum's officials welcomed the students and introduced them to the museum's collectibles, delivering a detailed explanation about each coin and the way it was circulated in ancient eras and how the coins represented the history of people and civilizations that ceased to exist a long time ago.

Jordan Ahli Bank’s management has established this museum and granted it great attention due to the value of the historical coins as a symbol of bartering trade and cultural exchange. This museum was founded to be the first of its kind in the Middle East to be owned by a commercial bank in Jordan in order to teach and benefit scientists, researchers and students in this field.

Through this museum, Jordan Ahli Bank aims to contribute in enriching and strengthening our historic culture among new generations, and to provide a distinct national service to Jordan and the Arab world.

The Numismatic Museum includes around 4000 coins and 12000 rare and unique numismatic coins that document the history of Jordan, Arabs and the Middle East’s events throughout different ages, in addition to a specialized numismatic library containing more than 1500 books and research resources.
