A fierce earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 shook southwestern Turkey on Wednesday.
The earthquake caused panic but no injuries or damage were reported. The quake took place at around 7:56 am (local time) and was centered in the town of Buldan in Denizli province, the Istanbul-based Kandilli observatory said.
In Denizli and in the neighboring provinces of Aydin and Manisa, residents rushed out into the streets in panic, according to Anatolia news agency.
Denizli is located some 450 kilometers southwest of Ankara. (Albawaba.com)
