Qatar takes action against bird flu

Qatar banned on Thursday the import of live birds, poultry and their products from countries infected with bird flu. The statement issued Thursday by the Qatari Minister of Municipal affairs and Agriculture Dr. Sultan Al-Dosseri came after the Qatari cabinet discussed this issue in its weekly meeting. "The Cabinet stressed the need to take the required procedures for the early detection of the disease," the statement said.
