Qatar's top leader arrived in Saudi Arabia Tuesday in a rare visit since a major rift developed between Doha and Riyadh earlier this year, according to Reuters.
Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani arrived in Jeddah Tuesday to meet Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah, according to Al Jazeera television.
No details were given in the report about what the two leaders plan to discuss.
The visit arrives days after Doha tried to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Tensions between Saudi and Qatar leadership have remained tense, with Saudi and other Gulf nations withdrawing their ambassadors from Doha earlier this year. Analysts suspect that the rift is centered around Qatar's support for the Muslim Brotherhood as well as economic issues between the two countries.
