Qatar expansion plans and new product line-up unveiled by Al-Bayader at DIYAFA 2008
Al Bayader International, a regional pioneer in the fast growing disposable products market, used the 3rd Hotel, Restaurant and Food Exhibition for Qatar - DIYAFA 2008, to successfully highlight its Qatar expansion plans and its new product line-up for 2008.
The company revealed a model of a new QR17 million regional head office and production and logistics facilities to be built in the new Doha Industrial Area. The 11,000m2 complex, scheduled to be completed in early 2009, will comprise an EPS foam thermoforming production factory, warehouses, offices and a showroom.
According to Al Bayader's Branch Manager in Doha, Oussama Ramadan, participation in DIYAFA was highly successful once more playing an important role in Al Bayader's rapid growth programme in Qatar.
"Al Bayader is committed to the Qatar market, which presents significant growth opportunities. We have supported and participated in all the previous DIYAFA exhibitions, and have conveyed the message to customers that we are not just a supplier of foodstuff packaging. Nowadays, our customers in Qatar require innovative packaging solutions, and we are striving to further improve our offering by significantly investing in new facilities to meet the growing demand from a fast growing local and regional population," he said.
"Today our product range is being used in an ever-diverse array of industries - from hotels to airlines and supermarkets to restaurants. DIYAFA brought several of our key customer segments together under one roof and allowed us to talk future plans."
Ramadan adds that the up-rating of the company's operations in Qatar will see a conversion from a simple distribution unit into a manufacturing and distribution centre.
"This new facility will provide the company with 20 per cent off its total requirement of packaging products for the region – not just Qatar," he said. "Furthermore, by having the factory within the same complex, our logistics and distribution channels will be significantly improved.
A new version of the company's product catalogue, the likes of which are not produced anywhere else in the industry, was also be available at DIYAFA.
"This has become an essential sales, reference and PR tool," adds Ramadan. "It is a comprehensive guide, featuring more than 900 products, including this year, a new category of eco-friendly products, such as organic wooden punnets designed especially for fruit and vegetables. The packaging is as healthy as the fresh food contained in it and rules out the need for fruit bowls.”
