Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Athens on Thursday at the start of a three-day official visit to Greece focussed on cooperation in the Balkans and other strife-torn areas of the world.
He was met at the airport by the Greek Transport Minister Christos Verelis and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Yanis Zafiropoulos, before going to the Presidential Palace where he was due to meet Greek President Costis Stephanopoulos, and sign a number of bilateral agreements – Athens (AFP)
