Some 100 demonstrators protested in front of the Swedish consulate here late on Saturday over police action against EU protesters in Gothenburg, Sweden, while in Bern paint was thrown at the Swedish embassy, the Swiss SDA news agency said Sunday quoting police.

The protest in Zurich passed off peacefully and there was no damage to property, police said.

In Bern, a witness reported seeing six people wearing masks throw bags containing paint at the Swedish embassy early Sunday, police said.

A statement claiming responsibility for the paint attack said it was against the "brutal action" of the police at the European Union summit in Sweden, especially the use of firearms, SDA said – ZURICH (AFP)
