PROGAS Signs Agreement with Al Izdihar Real Housing Company for First Community Development Project in Jordan to operate on Bulk LPG Technology
‘Elite Community’ will benefit from a safe, convenient and cost effective source of energy
PROGAS, the market leader in providing Bulk LPG technology in Jordan, has signed an agreement with Al Izdihar Housing Company to provide its new 29 villa community development project in Dabouk, called the Elite Community, with a Bulk LPG system that will enable each household to operate its heating and home appliances solely on LPG.
Mr. Talal Sider, General Manager, Al Izdihar Housing Company, stated,” “With the Elite Community development we have decided to take the lead and be the first community housing project in Jordan to fully adopt Bulk LPG technology, providing homeowners with a reliable, well serviced and much safer source of energy to heat their homes and run their home appliances.” Mr. Sider went on to say, “With the ongoing increase in energy costs and the growing demand for cleaner and safer energy, we believe that over time we will witness more and more households throughout Jordan switching to more economical and cost effective sources of energy such as the solution that PROGAS is providing us with.”
Saba Salti, General Manager of PROGAS, said, “The Bulk LPG System can be customized to serve a single household, or, as with the Elite Community development, a whole community, which will benefit from considerably lower energy costs, in addition to a professional and reliable service that will ensure consistent supplies and regular monitoring and maintenance.”
Salti described the system as an underground gas distribution network that is designed to be virtually identical to a natural gas system. PROGAS will provide Elite Community with two underground storage tanks, each with a 2,000 gallon capacity (equal to 7,560 liter). The piping network will reach the 29 villas that will all operate on LPG for heating and kitchen appliances, with each villa billed separately through individual meters located in each home. The community project as a whole is expected to consume 15 tons of gas per month and could go up to 20 tons per month during peak times.
PROGAS will perform a complete design and installation of the system according to international gas codes-- from excavation, installation of the tanks and testing the piping network before commissioning.
After the installation procedure is complete, a dedicated PROGAS after-sales service team will be available for monitoring and inspecting the installation and all equipment, as well as managing the supply of LPG and monitoring gas levels. The team will also perform routine testing of the installation as required by applicable gas codes including pressure testing to ensure there are no leaks. Households within the Elite Community project will also have access to a dedicated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week call centre that will handle any customer enquiries.
The way PROGAS bulk LPG works is through liquid gas that is safely stored underground, which is delivered to appliances through a network of pipes that can be installed within a week. Individual tank sizes vary between 250 to 4400 kg. The technology used is considered the safest and most efficient in the industry and is in accordance with the US National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes 54 and 58.
PROGAS installed its first bulk LPG system in July 2006. The company now services hundreds of installations for residential, commercial and industrial customers. The PROGAS bulk LPG system can be customized to suit any specific project whether a home, business, restaurant, mall or factory.
