pro technology to launch satabeast xi raid storage device in the middle east
First high density, energy efficient storage solution optimized for Apple Xserve and Mac Pro systems
PRO TECHnology, a leading provider of storage, broadcast, and communication solutions, has announced the official launch of Nexsan Technologies’ SATABeast Xi redundant arrays of inexpensive disks (RAID) serial advanced technology attachment (SATA) storage device in the region. SATABeast Xi is the first high density and energy-efficient RAID storage device to be designed and optimized specifically for the Apple Xserve and Mac Pro systems; the device is intended to be visually compatible with the Mac OS X Leopard system.
SATABeast Xi features high-density storage of up to 42 terabytes in only 4U of rack space and a revolutionary AutoMAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks) energy saving technology, and is the only storage device to support dual function fibre channel and iSCSI connectivity with wire-speed performance. The product offers full enterprise class performance, reliability and management, making it flexible, scalable and completely OS independent; thus capable of servicing a wide range of storage and computing infrastructures.
Jamal Maraqa, Managing Director, PRO TECHnology, said, “The SATABeast Xi made an impressive debut at the Macworld Conference and Expo 2008; it is simply the perfect storage device for Mac systems, providing a high density, plug and play solution that fully complements Apple Xserve’s existing storage options. The device offers high end performance at minimal cost to Xserve users.”
