An Egyptian husband has survived a fatal assault by his wife, who stabbed him with a knife for his repeated attempts to force her to have an abortion, the daily Al Gomhuria reported Sunday.
The Cairo-based daily said that the husband was hospitalized in a critical condition in Asyut, about 150m km to the south of Cairo, but doctors saved his life.
Investigations revealed that a brawl erupted between the victim and his wife because he insisted on forcing her to have an abortion.
She defended her fetus by attacking the husband, a blood bank employee, with a kitchen knife. His mother found him, bleeding, and the wife confessed her crime to interrogators, citing “maternal instincts” – Albawaba.com
