ALBAWABA - Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said Sunday that the island nation's future would not be shaped by social media posts in response to an image showing the island covered in a U.S. flag along with the caption "SOON".

Nielsen said, "The image shared by Katie Miller, depicting Greenland wrapped in an American flag, changes nothing whatsoever. Our country is not for sale, and our future is not decided by social media posts."

"That's enough now," Greenland's Prime Minister added after repeated threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to annex the island.

"No more pressure. No more insinuations. No more fantasies of annexation. We are open to dialogue. We are open to discussions. But this must happen through the proper channels and with respect for international law," he wrote on Facebook late Sunday.
