Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak postponed his expected visit this summer to the United States in order to continue his consultations with several Arab leaders, according to Egyptian press.
Editor in chief of Al-Musawar weekly magazine, Makram Mohammed Ahmad, said that President Mubarak decided to postpone his visit to Washington upon an invitation by U.S. President George W. Bush.
He added in an article to be issued in this week's edition that President Mubarak said in a "clear" statement to President George W. Bush that the proposed international conference should take into consideration all parties' commitments to achieve a just settlement.
The Editor added that Mubarak emphasized that the final solution ought to be the conference's main task, "as the conference should produce a timetable that sets (the) implementation of decisions, and Washington should guarantee Israel's commitment and implementation."
He added that Washington should support the importance of Israeli troop withdrawal from the Palestinian territories to the borders that existed before the launch of the Palestinian Intifada in September 2000.
Furthermore, President Mubarak highlighted the importance of the Israeli withdrawal, the ending of all forms of violence against the Palestinian people as well as the releasing all frozen Palestinian funds that reached 800 million dollars. (Albawaba.com)
