Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh headed on Saturday the first meeting of the new government he appointed last Thursday giving ministers guidelines. President Saleh's words focused on the responsibility of improving investment sector in the country and giving local, Arab and international investments more opportunities and facilities "to improve the national economy according to the electoral program of the General People's Congress".
"You have great responsibilities to carry out according to priorities determined in the electoral program of GPC's candidate such as encouraging foreign local, Arab and foreign investment, doubling efforts to improve the status quo of electricity power as it is extremely important for economic, agricultural and industrial development", said Saleh, according to SABA.
He said the new government should be interested to increase the electrical generation by gas or by peaceful nuclear energy, according to recommendations of the Arab Summit in Riyadh about the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes "as the former government was interested in roads and telecommunications."
