President of Kenya to meet with Egyptian counterpart

Kenya’s president, Daniel T. Arap Moi is expected to arrive in Cairo on Wednesday in the context of a two-day visit, which will be the third of its kind since he became president in January 1998.  

 

The Kenyan president is due to hold talks with Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak at the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, to exchange viewpoints on a range of issues of joint interest and African developments, KUNA said.  

 

Bilateral ties between Egypt and Kenya will also be discussed during the meeting.  

 

KUNA added that the issue of pan-Arab conflicts is expected to be discussed as well, especially the issue of Sudan and the situation in Somalia.  

 

Furthermore, efforts to improve the quality of life in Africa will also be dealt with.  

 

President Moi's last visit to the North African country of Egypt was in February 2000. (albawaba.com)
