Lebanon has not been notified whether US Secretary of State Colin Powell would visit the country during his expected tour of the region, from May 1-6, which would cover Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Palestinian Territories, diplomatic sources were quoted by Lebanon's Daily Star on Thursday.
The sources affirmed that they were not keeping a possible visit to Lebanon by Powell a secret for security reasons. They added that measures that would be taken, should he decide to come to Beirut, would be sufficient to protect him.
