Porsche embarks on move to Dubai Silicon Oasis

Thanks to the relentless growth of Porsche Middle East and Africa, work is about to start on a new, state-of-the-art office complex at Dubai Silicon Oasis. A “breaking the sod” ceremony took place on 13 April ahead of the extensive land development.

Scheduled for completion in November, the new 2,800 square-metre office complex will house a specialised training centre for both technical and sales staff alongside a whole host of the latest equipment and training aids. Once it is finished, all of Porsche’s 25 regional-office employees will move across to the new building, and because Dubai Silicon Oasis is an authorised free zone, it is expected to meet and exceed all requirements of Porsche.

Porsche Middle East and Africa is responsible for 15 markets, with 20 Porsche Centres in four separate trade areas, comprising the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), India and Pakistan, Africa and the Levant. The region is currently celebrating its fifth successive year of double-digit growth, having sold 5,330 cars over the last financial year, compared to 4,419 the year before. In total, this amounted to a remarkable eighth year of record sales.

Deesch Papke, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East and Africa, sees the complex as a valuable asset for Porsche in the region. “We are all pleased and excited to move to these new offices,” he said. “We chose the Dubai Silicon Oasis because the authorities provide the service which suits our business demands best. We are working in close co-operation with them to build a fitting regional head office for the brand. Furthermore, we have experienced a long and satisfying relationship to the Free Zone and thanks to our consistent growth over the last eight years, our new home will provide the perfect environment and facilities to continue our charge.”
