The Polish national airline, LOT, is planning to resume flights to Lebanon this week, its first service to Beirut in 26 years, Associated Press (AP) reported.
Sayyed Kamberji, the LOT manager in Beirut, was quoted by the agency as saying that the decision to resume flights to Lebanon was a response to the Lebanese government's "open skies policy."
LOT suspended its flights to Beirut in 1975, at the outset of the civil war in Lebanon. This week, the airline was scheduled to begin operating a weekly flight between Lebanon and Poland.
