Western Sahara's Polisario Front movement has pledged to free 408 Moroccan prisoners of war, many held for almost two decades.
The movement captured more than 2000 soldiers during a 16-year-long conflict with Morocco over Western Sahara. Reports said all the prisoners being held at the Tindouf camps in Algeria will be freed. The International Red Cross Committee has already commenced checking the identities of the prisoners before they are transported to Morocco in the coming days, sources were quoted by news agencies as saying.
