The secretary general of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)'s executive committee, Abu Mazen, will visit Moscow early next week for talks with Russian officials on the Palestinian crisis, the Palestinian ambassador in Moscow, Kheiri Al Aridi, told the official Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA.
Mahmoud Abbas, better known as Abu Mazen, will meet Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov to discuss the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people, the envoy said.
He added that Abu Mazen would convey a message from Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
