Football enthusiasts in the Middle East and North African (MENA) region have a rare treat in store for them when Al Ittihad, the highly popular Premier League champions of Saudi Arabian football, face-off against European giants Real Madrid at 20.30 hours GMT on July 26 in a group match of the Peace Cup 2009 tournament. The exciting action of this eagerly anticipated clash will be brought live from Madrid on ART Prime Sport & ART Sport to all Pehla Gold, Pehla Silver and Firstnet Premium subscribers, according to an announcement by Arab Digital Distribution, the largest pay television platform management company in the MENA region.
This is the first time that the tournament, organized in 2003, is being held outside South Korea. Originally featuring eight teams in the earlier three editions, the 2009 version has been upgraded to 12 teams in four groups who will play their group matches from July 24 to July 29 at five venues (Seville, Malaga, Jerez, Huelva, Madrid) in Andalusia and Madrid in Spain, with the winners of Group A and B facing off in the first semi-final at Seville at 20.30 hours GMT and the winners of Group C and D battling each other in the second semi-final at Malaga at 18.30 hours GMT on July 31. The final will be played at Seville at 20.00 hours GMT on August 2.
According to ADD, all matches in the tournament, beginning with the Sevilla vs Juventas clash in Seville and the Liga de Quito vs Al Ittihad face-off in Jerez on July 24, will be exclusively broadcast live.
The 12 participating teams this year come from eight countries - Spain, Italy, South Korea, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, England, Mexico, France, Turkey and Portugal  include teams like Sevilla, Juventus and Seongnam  Ilhwa  Chunma, Real Madrid, Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito (LDU Quito), Al-Ittihad, Malaga, Aston Villa, Atlante, Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon), Besiktas, divided into 4 groups.
