PALME Middle East, the region’s only trade event dedicated to professional lighting, audio, music, entertainment, audio visual and systems integration industry, is set to open on Sunday 18 April.

PALME, which takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre and runs until Tuesday 20 April, features INSTALL for professional audio visual and systems integration technologies section and MUSAC an area for musical instruments and accessories.

“This year PALME will feature over 200 exhibitors – up 10 per cent on 2009 – from 30 countries showcasing 800 brands. In addition, we are expecting more than 7,000 visitors over the three days with a cumulative buying power exceeding $600 million, which represents a healthy 20 per cent rise year-on-year,” commented, Alex Heuff, Exhibition Director of PALME Middle East.

The exhibition will also feature more than 22 regional product launches, INSTALL in particular has expanded this year with a number of top brands, including NEC, Sharp, Samsung and Smart Technologies participating for the first time.

“Despite the current economic climate, we are hosting a larger show than last year, with more than two dozen premieres. That in itself speaks volumes not only for PALME but also for the health of the regional market,” added Heuff.

The annual PALME Middle East Awards 2010 will take place on Monday night in the Al Multaqua Ballroom at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, awarding the leading industry players in such categories as Best Entertainment Venue in the Middle East and Most Innovative New AV Product of the Year.

Meanwhile, more than 30 speakers from leading companies across all areas of the industry will participate in conferences and seminars during the event focusing on systems integration and lighting. In addition, there will be a comprehensive education programme by leading industry professionals including certified courses on the latest technologies and techniques from education partners InfoComm Academy and the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association.
