Palestinians reported that one person was injured during exchange of gunfire with Israeli troops in the West Bank city of Qalqilyah overnight Friday.
The Israeli forces detained three activists of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Qalqilyah after surrounding a building in the city, where the shooting took place, according to Palestinian sources.
Meanwhile, Israel is releasing a further 73 Palestinian prisoners, including one woman. All had originally been slated to be freed on Tuesday, but Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon delayed their releases in response to that day's suicide bombings in Rosh Ha'ayin and Ariel.
Most of the prisoners were convicted of being in Israel illegally. (Albawaba.com)
