Palestinian sources on Monday reported that a 16-year-old was shot by Israeli forces in Ramallah late Sunday night. Officials from the city's hospital identified the victim as Muhammad Jabrin. Also in the West Bank, occupation forces arrested 13 Palestinians overnight. According to Ynet, Israeli forces raided the areas of Jenin, Qalqiliya, Ramallah, Bethlehem and Hebron.
Meanwhile, Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas threatens not to attend Washington's regional peace summit in November unless Israel agrees to reach an agreement with the Palestinians there, Abbas' associates told Haaretz Sunday. Saudi Arabia has also presented some preconditions for its attendance.
The Palestinian sources were reacting to Israeli PM Ehud Olmert's statement that Israel and the Palestinians will not present an Agreement of Principles on final status issues at the summit, but issue a joint declaration instead. "If Olmert says there'll just be a declaration, it's not worth going to this meeting in Washington," said Nimr Hamad, an adviser to Abbas.
