Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei said on Wednesday that President Mahmoud Abbas will send a letter to the Legislative Council, saying there is no enough time to form a new government.
During the cabinet weekly meeting in Ramallah city, the PM said that the President thinks that at this time forming of a new government is impossible, WAFA reported. The time is short before the date of legislative elections on January 25, Qurei said, adding that his government will continue its works till the start of the legislative nominations, where an interim government will be formed to follow up the election process.
Qurei made it clear that the government is intending to publish the medical report concerning Yasser Arafat's death, saying that this issue will stay under study till there is a clear medical explanation about the death.
Referring to Abbas' forthcoming visit to the United States and France, Qurei expressed his hope the US will push forward implementing the Road Map plan, noting that the Palestinian people is expecting positive results.
