Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas said that he was relocating to the Gaza Strip where he would be based until the completion of Israel's pullout from this occupied territory.

"I'm going now to Gaza to stay for the entire disengagement period to follow all the details about the disengagement from Gaza," he told Palestinian radio.

"I will have contact with all the Palestinian factions," he added.

The Palestinian leader also said in his interview that Israel has still not provided answers on key questions regarding the withdrawal in talks meant to coordinate the pullout.

"Until now there has not been a positive answer from the Israeli side, although there is contact with them," he told the Voice of Palestine. "I expect they will give us answers this week, but it will be very late."
