Israeli soldiers Friday opened fire on Palestinians near the West Bank city of Jenin, wounding three, one of them seriously. Elsewhere in the West Bank, the Israeli army detained 16 Palestinians in the Nablus and Hebron areas.
Earlier, a 60-year-old Palestinian man was killed late Thursday while three others wounded after Israeli troops opened fire at them in the city of Rafah, south Gaza, Palestinian medical sources said.
Eyewitnesses conveyed that the Israeli troops stationed around the Israeli Rafia-Yam settlement opened their heavy machinegun fire, killing Mohammad Salim Al-Bayoumi and wounding three others, including two women.
Meanwhile, Hamas said on Friday the barrier Israel is building on the West Bank borders would not stop its members from carrying out attacks on against Israelis.
"In denouncing the line...which carves up the Palestinian territories and prevents contact among Palestinians, Hamas is sure that this wall will not defend the Zionist entity and will not be able to prevent attacks by the resistance," the group said in a statement issued in Gaza City.
"One day will see the total collapse of this wall," added the statement of Hamas. "The remains of this wall will be witnesses to the racism of the Zionist entity." (Albawaba.com)
